Wireless speakers are the next must-have gadgets in consumer electronics these days. They allow a level of freedom and convenience that more than justifies the higher expense, that is not a lot to begin with and, again, more than offset by what they will do for your home theater environment.

Wireless speakers permit for the discrete, directional surround sound preferred by modern media, helping to further blur the difference between the virtual and the real. And with every passing quarter, prices come down as new developments come on to the market, so it is always a good time to buy the best you can afford!

The major advantage of wireless speakers is that they make surround sound easy to realize. No more figuring out how to route wires or cables around a room, or even between rooms (and different floors!) – just place the speaker wherever you want it, on a shelf, or a chair, or on the floor in an out-of-the-way spot.

And since they are wireless, they’re eminently convenient and could be easily shared; say you have a nice audio set-up inside your living room, for the home theater, but you would also like your gaming consoles, in the bedroom, to get the same quality of high quality immersive audio.

Rather than buying a duplicate system simply for gaming, you could, with the right kind of equipment, just carry your speakers over from one room to the other: problem solved!
