Dispose Noise Pollution with Disposable Ear Plugs
Noise is the most frequent complaint to New York City’s 311 hotline, created by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to handle information requests and quality-of-life issues. This might sound odd given Gotham’s reputation for possessing the toughest set of noise pollution laws in the entire nation, but the apparent incongruity is readily explained by the fact that enforcement is lax. Indeed, the casual attitude of the police, not to mention the courts, prevails all over the city, and it is a wonder how such an allegedly tough set of laws should have ever been proposed at all, never mind actually passed!
